345. “My Dad” by Anthony Browne

Do you remember “My Mom” by Anthony Browne, that I recommended as a Mother’s Day read and gift? Well, it seems that moms are not the only ones that the author decided to pay tribute to. After all, dads are important too.

What is your dad like?   “He’s all right, my dad.”  And fearless. He can chase away a Big Bad Wolf. He wrestles with giants, eats like a horse and is happy like a hippo. He is wise, strong and brilliant. A list of heroic epithets could go on and on, but what matters the most is that “I love my dad.” And “He loves me!”

A warm and touching portrayal of the one and only, dad, with a splash of humor in every illustration. I just love dad’s plaid bathrobe!

You have a lovely blog–love parents who devote time each day to reading to their child!

Thank you. I can’t imagine it otherwise. Reading with my little bookworm makes my day. I love to see his eyes light up as we turn the pages. It’s deeply rewarding and very addictive.
